POWER OUTAGE IN KILSYTH We now have power back at the surgery. If you missed out on your appointment while the surgery was closed, please call us to reschedule or book online.
VACCINES Unfortunately due to the power outage, our vaccine fridge could not maintain its temperature. All of our vaccine stock was compromised and can no longer be used. This means all upcoming appointments for Flu & Covid-19 vaccines have been cancelled. Staff will call to rebook all vaccine appointments as soon as new stock arrives. We thank you for your patience.
COVID-19 Vaccine Update
We are now administering the AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine
* The vaccine is now available to all patients over 50. Call the surgery to book into one of our vaccine clinics.
* The Pfizer vaccine is not available at our surgery.
Victorians aged between 40-49 are able to get the Pfizer vaccine at government-run vaccination hubs.
People eligible for the Pfizer vaccine must book an appointment by calling the Coronavirus Hotline on: 1800 675 398
We are now distributing vaccines to patients over the age of 50. Call the surgery to book into one of our vaccine clinics. Please note there may be a wait time for an available clinic. However we will endeavour to open up more clinics when possible.
Should you wish to have the vaccine sooner than when we can offer it to you, or if you are not a regular patient to this clinic, you can make an appointment to get a vaccine at one of the EACH locations in Lilydale or Ringwood. Click this link for more information: www.each.com.au/covid-19-vaccination-clinics/ If you decide to attend an EACH clinic you may need to see your regular GP to get an updated Health Summary to take with you.
Any questions about the Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccine?
Flu vaccines are now available for all age groups.
Getting a flu shot is the most important measure to prevent influenza and its complications. An annual flu shot is recommended for all people aged 6 months and over.
This year the flu vaccine will be administered in a normal consultation with your GP. We will not be taking names for waiting lists or running flu vaccine clinics.
PLEASE NOTE: There must be at least 14 days in between having a flu vaccine and a Covid-19 vaccine.
Who can get a flu shot for free?
Children aged 6 months to less than 5 years of age
Pregnant women (can be given at any stage of pregnancy)
People aged 5 years and over with medical risk conditions, namely:
chronic lung conditions, such as severe asthma or chronic obstructive airways disease
other chronic illnesses requiring regular medical follow up such as diabetes
weak immune systems, such as kidney failure or being on immunosuppressant medications or steroids
Everyone 65 years and over. We offer a strong “adjuvanted quadrivalent” vaccine to this group to further strengthen immunity.
If you are over 65 and eligible for a government vaccine, please ensure to book at our surgery with one of our GP's to receive the correct vaccine for your age group, to be supervised in the event of an adverse reaction and to have the vaccine documented in your patient file.
If you are not eligible for a government-funded free vaccine, the cost of the vaccine is $20.
Brief appointments solely for the purpose of receiving a flu vaccine are usually bulk-billed. If your doctor addresses other issues in the same appointment you will be charged our usual fee.
